
Dr. Shirley Chen is founder and CEO of WinVivo Corp, a California green healthcare platform specialized in the development of unique botanical products that provide long term sustainable, effective solutions to chronic health problems such as systemic ailments related to abnormal immunity, infection, and allergy, as well as chronic non-healing skin ulcers, wounds, and dermatological disorders (eczema, acne and contact dermatitis).
Dr. Chen brings 12 years of experiences in global health product development and market expansion in the US, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, pharmaceutical and biotechnology intellectual property (IP) protection and brand management. This combined technical, legal and business expertise is built on her 10+ years of academic research into cancer biology, virology, molecular biology and biological chemistry.
Prior to her entrepreneurship Dr. Chen was a senior IP counsel at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. She has also been a principal investigator in cancer biology research and drug development at SRI International, and carried out postdoctoral research of viruses in the laboratory of Nobel Laureate Dr. Harold E. Varmus at UCSF and at UC Berkeley. She is a member of the State Bar of California, and holds a JD from Santa Clara University and a PhD in biological chemistry from SUNY Stony Brook.
Dr. Chen was born in China to two botanist parents in a remote mountain area of South West China and graduated from Peking University with a BS in Applied Chemistry. She loves Asian cooking and organic gardening, growing flowers, fruits and vegetables at her Silicon Valley home.
