The BMECS organizing committee is proud to announce the first annual Biomechanical Engineering Conference at Stanford (BMECS). BMECS is a one-day scientific conference organized entirely by students, highlighting current biomechanical engineering research by students and post-docs at Stanford. The scientific program will include student poster sessions and scientific talks, as well as a keynote address from Dr. Rob Phillips of Caltech. The event will close with a reception open to all attendees. More information can be found below and at the conference website.
Call for Abstracts
We encourage all students and post-docs conducting research in biomechanical engineering to submit an abstract for presentation at BMECS 2010. Attendance at BMECS 2010 is free of charge. Work presented at BMECS will be in the form of either a 10 minute scientific talk or a poster presentation.
BMECS welcomes presentations from all domains of biomechanical engineering, including:
* Orthopedic Biomechanics
* Molecular Dynamics
* Cellular Biomechanics
* Cell Motility and Transport
* Cardiac, Auditory, and Visual Biomechanics
* Soft Tissue Biomechanics
Abstract submission will open on April 12, 2010. All abstracts should be submitted online before Monday, May 3, 2010 at 11:59 PM. Decisions regarding the abstracts selected for scientific talks will be announced by May 10, 2010.
