Dr. Mark Genovese, Professor of Medicine and Co-Chief of the Division of Immunology and Rheumatology, Stanford University Medical Center
The Bay Area Association of Kidney Patients is proud to announce that Dr. Genovese will be our guest speaker for our Spring session.
All are invited to learn the many facets of auto immune diseases, diagnosis and treatment. Immunological diseases can involve the kidneys with some leading to CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) and eventual renal (kidney) replacement measures, such as dialysis and transplant.
Dr. Genovese will discuss autoimmune disorders such as IgA nephropathy, lupus nephritis, SLE (systemic lupus Erythematoisis), Goodpastures Syndrome, vasculitis, polyarteritis nodosa and Wegener’s Granulomatoisis. He will also discuss Gout, a frequent affliction of kidney patients. There will be ample time for audience questions and for social interaction and patient support. Kidney-friendly refreshments will be served.
