Dr. Nitin Salunke is the Director of Engineering and is responsible to strategize the technical efforts at the Sunnyvale facility of W.L. Gore & Associates. He is a veteran Project Manager and Product Specialist at this facility and at Flagstaff, AZ. He has been involved with due diligence efforts, product safety assessments, physician feedback, market assessment and clinical and FDA regulatory planning of PMAs. He was responsible for the successful commercialization of the EXCLUDER Bifurcated Endoprosthesis and received the Frost & Sullivan Product Leadership award in 2004. Before that, he led the technical development of Gore’s HELEX Septal Occulder, which also won him the Medical Design Excellence Award in 2001.
Dr. Salunke got his BS in Mechanical engineering at the University of Poona, MS at the University of Oklahoma and his doctorate at the University of Maryland in Cardiovascular Biomechanics.
