Patrick Reilly is an Executive Coach and Consultant with more than twenty years experience helping people solve difficult business problems. He is a principal with Resources In Action, Inc. a firm that specializes in talent management, change management and executive coaching. His coaching expertise is part of Resources In Action approach to managing talent. He typically supports three types of executives: those who are new to organizations or on boarding and needing to get up to speed quickly, high potentials the organization is trying to develop in an accelerated fashion and those who are talented yet distinctive. He has worked extensively with leaders in the technology, health care, IT and energy sectors. In the recent past, he has developed a talent management methodology based on key customer failures in hiring, developing and retaining top talent. The approach effectively integrates best practices in recruiting, selecting and on boarding “A” performers in ways that increase organizational productivity and mitigate risk.
A long term employee of Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Patrick has led and facilitated a variety of change and talent management initiatives for organizations including Cisco, GE Capital, Genencore, HP and Kaiser Permanente. While at PGE& he was part of a team that developed a learning strategy for the entire corporation, relocated 1700 employees to one location and led a variety of change efforts resulting in millions of dollars of savings and cost avoidance. During the past few years he has turned his attention to working directly with the senior leadership teams of smaller organizations supporting their efforts to deploy their human resources for maximum productivity.
Patrick is a contributing author to Coaching in the 21st Century and now has the first executive coaching on boarding blog. It can be found at www.resourcesinaction.com . The blog contains a variety of articles on change management, accountability and, of course, the challenges of successfully getting a new executive “in the saddle” and productive. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Professional Coaches and Mentors Association (PCMA.)
Patrick earned his BA in Psychology from Tufts University and his MA in Organizational Development from the JFK School of Management.
