Sheldon Ng joined IMS Health, Emerging Biopharma, in 2005 and is advising early stage biotech clients on a wide range of product optimization and business development issues. Sheldon’s technical grasp of the healthcare marketplace combines a unique blend of scientific and commercial expertise. Sheldon began his biotech career in the San Francisco bay area, where he rose from Research Associate to Research Scientist at Chiron and Exelixis. During his tenure, Sheldon led programs in discovery through preclinical development in the areas of oncology, immunology, neuroscience and metabolism. After supporting the IPO at Exelixis, he joined Guava Technologies as a business analyst where he spearheaded the company’s first product launch and led the brand’s commercial development, marketing and public relations efforts. Sheldon was promoted to Manager of Business Development prior to leaving for his graduate studies. Most recently, he was Associate Director of Business Development at Hana Biosciences where he led the in-licensing efforts for both therapeutic and supportive oncology drugs. His career in biotechnology has also included undergraduate and MBA internships at Genentech where he worked on Avastin preclinical research and Tarceva product management respectively.Sheldon holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University where he majored in Biotechnology, Management and Strategy, and Marketing and a BA from Cornell University in the Biological Sciences.
