Yvonne Ryan, Founder of Leader's Edge (San Jose, CA), is passionate about helping technical people become effective and successful leaders. For over 25 years, Yvonne worked as a software engineer, engineering manager/director, project/program manager, and consultant with companies in a variety of fields, including: Electronic CAD, manufacturing CAD/CAM, biomedical, compilers and computer language design, manufacturing systems, radio and television systems, and business systems. Yvonne's experiences as a manager, mentor, and trainer, and her ability to aid the recovery of companies and projects in crisis eventually led her to transition from engineering into a full-time career in coaching, facilitation, and training.

In addition to coaching, Yvonne is a trained mediator, an Instructor-of-Trainers, and an instructional designer. Yvonne has contributed to standards developed for the IEEE/DASC and was the conference chair for the 1998 VHDL International conference. She is current VP of Community Relations for the American Society for Training and Development (Silicon Valley Chapter), and volunteers regularly as a trainer and speaker for Scouting organizations and job support groups around the Bay Area. Though she works with individuals from many different backgrounds, her particular focus is coaching middle managers and team leaders in technical fields.
