Gabriela Zelaya, International Trade Specialist in the Silicon Valley U.S. Commercial Service office, counsels small U.S. businesses on a variety of export-related issues, including international business development, international marketing strategies, foreign customs regulations, and shipping logistics. Mrs. Zelaya’s clients fall in a number of different industry sectors including Health Care Technologies, Education and Training Services.
Mrs. Zelaya is a member of two International Trade Administration teams: the Heath Care team and the Education and Training team, of which she is a core member. Among other activities, Mrs. Zelaya has worked closely with companies on developing cost-effective strategies to penetrate foreign markets and/or overcome international trade barriers.
Before joining the Commercial Service, Mrs. Zelaya worked as a Data Analyst for the Joint Drug Intelligence Group in Norwalk, CA. Mrs. Zelaya holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science/Law and Society (U.C. Riverside, 2001) and a master’s degree in International Studies (University of Miami, 2002).
